Progesterone suppositories cause yeast infection?

Anonymous
I've been using progesterone suppositories for a week now and developed the worst yeast infection. What's the best way to treat it since I cannot take any pills or use Monistat? The nurse advised me to use the cream on the external area, but it doesn't help.

The same thing happened to me so I ate natural probiotic yogurt which helped after a day or two.

I had the same thing when I was on Endometrin. I ate lots of yogurt. Used a panty liner, and changed it several times a day. I often changed my underwear at least once a day as well.
Make sure you shower and wash the area daily, if not twice a day. If I did not shower twice, I would wash down my vajayjay with a cold wet washcloth before inserting the next Endometrin.

Great tips. Thank you!

You may want to ask your nurse about switching to the progesterone in oil shots -- they really are not that bad (it's basically like doing a trigger shot once a day). The shots are also much cheaper if you are paying out-of-pocket.

I developed an infection after using vaginal prometrium and the nurse prescribed me antibiotics that were considered safe during pregnancy. I can't remember the name of it though.....I'm sure your doctor would now.

I found a relief by using Preparation H wipes with aloe vera, the ones that are safe to use for that area.
