| Two months after finding a nail in a tire, now there is a fat screw in another tire. It’s near the sidewall but I’m hoping it can be patched. Ugh. Owning assets is a big pain. Wish me luck as I wait here at the shop. If we can’t get it patched, looking at several days of inconvenience to purchase and install new tires. Bleh. |
| Several days? Are you making the tires yourself? |
| They were able to patch it! Thank goodness. My car has a weird tire size and I always have to order them from TireRack. Takes 2-3 days to deliver and install. It’s a Honda Fit with small tires. |
| When I had a Chevy Spark, my small tires were always needed air pressure and getting nails. |
| I drove into a tire place in Rockville and 30 minutes later my tires was plugged. It cost $24 and I tipped $20. I thought it was fast and cheap. |
|
My tires only cost $15-$20 each and the shop only charges me $5 to put them on.
What’s my secret? I ride a bike. |
I bet you ride a bike. Am I right? Am I right??? |
| If you get new tires, get the wararnty teh tire shop offers. It's $25-50/tire, but in this area with so much construction, totally worth it. We have a German luxury car where each tire is $250+, and we've had 3 plugs and 1 full replacement under warranty so far. All due to nails and debris in the roads. |
Odds are that person doesn’t own a television either |
| Construction zone? We got multiple nails when a new house was being built in our street. |
This. The tire warranty has paid for itself already. |
| Buy from titre rack they give free road Hazzard, you can't patch a tire if the nail is on the 1/4 put of the tire not just sodewall |
I ride a bike, too, but I know how to change my own tires, so it doesn't cost me anything to put them on. But I also drive a car, and it's pretty annoying when the tires get things stuck in them. Not sure what riding a bike has to do with this thread? |
| I've had 5 nails in my tires in the last 1 1/2 years driving around NOVA. It's ridiculous. |
