Has anyone rented a car from Sixt? If so, how was your experience?
I did in the Netherlands and it was all good.
I have several times. No issues.
Yes. Perfectly normal.
Yup. Love them. Great cars, exceptional service.
They were awesome, actually.
Overseas, yeah. No issues. Always read your rental agreement very closely and know your insurance options as this will all vary by country.
My husband’s ex had to rent from them after several DUIs (the other car companies wouldn’t rent to her). So if you have a DUI, this is a good choice for you.
Solid company. Have rented from them a few times in Switzerland and France without issues. They are one of the bigger agencies in Europe.
I did in Seattle and the experience was atrocious. Could not get through to a human when I needed to. Then they wanted to overcharge me. Horrible experience. Would not recommend. Stick with more traditional car rental places.
We had a weird experience with Sixt several years ago. Rented a car for a week, and when we returned with the car, the location had completely closed. There was a sign on the locked door indicating that we should just leave the car in the empty parking lot, which we did. Presumably someone came and collected it at some point, but it felt strange to leave it at a clearly abandoned location. I’ve avoided Sixt since then.
Had a good experience renting from Sixt in Italy. We do not speak Italian and the reps at the airport English very well.
The Sixt in San Juan was in a really odd location far from anything, and gave us a crappy Toyota Yaris. Otherwise, Sixt has been OK.
We’ve rented through Sixt at both Miami airport and LAX. Gotten great deals on BMWs, and had good experiences.

Yep, got a bmw 3 series at JFK and drove that thing for all it was worth. Check in and out was as easy as any other car rental place, check in at the desk, go find your car with the keys already in it then check out at the gate.
