My kid who likes rock climbing has a range of different interests. I think his common “like” in all those activities is identifying goals and then challenging himself to meet them, which I think really can be true of most activities. The diving and snowboarding probably are most similar in terms of physical challenge/element of danger. |

They might be. Do you have places to do them? Rock climbers mess up their hands a lot, it’s not going to be hard to find something that is lower risk. |
OP here, he likes a lot of those things. I hadn’t thought about diving. I am wondering about that and Parkour. Skateboarding is a good one too. He likes things you can do with a friend when you don’t have to be at the same level. |

| Ultimate frisbee has similar ethos (if your climber does comps) but is a team sport - and incredibly athletic. Hiking is just the approach for rock climbing - so that might work, too. Also, cross-country running. |
