About half of pet owners say their pets are part of their family as much as a human member and 46% say their pet is a member of their family but not the same as a human member. Which one are you? I have cats and I love them, but they’re not on the same level as a human member of my family.

| I take good care of my 4 pets, and foster pregnant dogs and care for their puppies... but no, they are definitely not on par with human relatives. |
| My husband loves our dog A LOT but definitely doesn’t think a pet is on par with a human family member. Put another way, if we had to make a decision between the dog and a kid, he would choose the kid. But, if he had to make a decision between our dog and a random kid (like a kid scared of dogs so would need to lock the dog up he would say that kid can’t come over). |
Dogs are higher in my opinion. I have human relatives who are not as loyal as my dog! |
| My dogs are my family since I live with them and hang out with them every day. I have some aunts and cousins in other states and countries but no other family. |
| Depends on the family member... |
this is more common among people who live alone (and who are childless) |
| I’d die for my kids but not my pet |
| My dogs and cats might as well be human. They are my children. |
+1 I love my dogs so so so so much. They are my family but not at the same level as my human kids. |
My level of family: I would try to save everyone in a fire, but humans come first. |
