I love your post! I have a total weakness for cookbooks and can't seem to resist buying them, reading them, etc. Though my current favorite is Julia Child's original cookbook (blame the movie Julie and Julia on that!) the cookbook I go to nearly every week for something, the one cookbook I can't live without is a 60 year-old first edition of the Betty Crocker cookbook. Why? Because each chapter starts out with the most basic of explanations (cuts of meat, how to boil an egg, how to make a pie crust) then moves on to include absolutely everything you can imagine -- every pie, every cookie, every biscuit. It also has conversions, a 365 day menu planner, how to cook outside on various types of equipment, how to set a table, calorie counting, a spice and herb chart, etc. It's my go to cookbook

I'm in love with America's Test Kitchen Light and Healthy. Everything I've made has been delicious!
Google!
I love prevention magazine's recipe engine- you can specify less than x calories, glutten free, whatever- and i can type in main ingredient so i can get let's say chicken low carb dinner dish..
I have a cookbook obsession so it is difficult to pick one! My current favorites are Everyday Food: Great Food Fast, Madhur Jaffrey's Indian Cooking, and Weber's Real Grilling (have been doing a lot of cookouts lately and the marinades in this book are simple and so flavorful).
Just got Mark Bittman's Kitchen Express from the Library and like it--it's not a traditional cookbook, but rather the recipes are in paragraph form and just kind of tell you things to throw together. Everything is supposed to take 20 minutes or less. Most don't have measurements. One chapter for each season.
Hungry Girl 123. It is very weight watchers friendly, and is all about quick and/or easy recipes.
