| So I wrote j. Crew off a few years ago because I’d been so disappointed in the quality. I don’t even look at the website anymore, and have been making my own clothing. WELL. I was searching for Liberty fabric and their website came up. The clothing is SO cute, and knowing it’s Liberty fabric gives me confidence that at least those pieces won’t pill. Unfortunately, my favorite item is on final sale. I’m very leery about the stitching and the cut. Has anyone tried on the new Liberty items? Are they as well-made as old J.Crew? That used to be my all-time favorite store, and I’d love to shop there again, but I’ve been so disappointed in everything I’ve bought for about 10 years, so it’s hard to trust again. I literally don’t think I can buy anything from them if I don’t know where the materials come from. Thanks for your opinions! |
| Nothing at Jcrew is good anymore unless you’re an xs. |
Well, I'm an xs and think that the quality of JCrew has become abysmal. |

I think liberty just licenses the prints.
I just got a linen shirt from JCrew and it’s very nice. |
That is so unfortunate. Thanks for letting me know. Their stuff is always nice when you buy it. I just want it to last multiple years. Nothing’s lasted longer than a season recently. I’d love to hear from you at the end of next summer. Are you still wearing the shirt? |
| It is not what it was, but it is getting better. |
| I’ve been happy with my jcrew stuff |
| I got 2 swimsuits and a coverup this year from j crew. They fit great snd are well made. Other than that the clothes are cheaply made. |
That’s really hopeful. Maybe they can turn it around. |

They have been licensing liberty stuff for years. I have couple button up shirts that I bought in probably 2017….?
The quality is no where near 2000 level quality, but I’ve had the shirts for 5 years and I think they always look really pretty and pulled together. The cotton fabric is thinner than you would see at liberty, but the trade off is that they aren’t so stiff and starchy. They have other liberty tops that are peasant style or tunic style, and I wouldn’t get those because that’s where jcrew starts to look cheap - when they are shapeless and just a cheap balloon of fabric. I generally think jcrew makes some decent items, if you have an eye for things, that can round out a wardrobe, and will last for a good number of years. |

The quality of clothes overall is terrible right now.
That said, I have bought a ton of J Crew vintage cotton tees in the last year and they are very nice - my favorite tees. Especially if I get them on sale, I am good with the price:quality - I can never get a white tee to last more than a couple of seasons no matter how much I spend. |
Great feedback. Thank you. |
| I got some Liberty napkins from J. Crew last year and was really disappointed in the fabric (very thin). I also have a Liberty swimsuit, which is great, but it's swimsuit fabric... |
| The tees are see through like everywhere else these days. I did buy two button down shirts and they are a but see through but not as awful as the tees. |
| The vintage Cotton shirt that I’ve just bought came out of the wash with a hole after the first wear. |
