| What's the best steakhouse in/near DC? I'm looking for food but also ambiance. That whole rich mahogany, overly masculine aesthetic. Money isn't a concern. Big bonus points for solid bourbon list. Thanks! |

St Anselm if you want it to taste good
Mortons or the Palm if you want it to look good |
| Ruth’s Chris. Bonus points if you bring your toddler. |
| I enjoy capital grill. |
| NOT St Anselm. Don’t know why people keep recommending this place. It’s just not that good. |
| Bourbon Steak is my fave- great bar scene too |
Only on NYE....

+1. Does not have the ambience OP is looking for, too airy, but the best steak I’ve has in DC. |
It also has a decent (though overpriced) bourbon selection. |
| District Chophouse or the Palm. Ruth's Chris is really underwhelming for the price. |
+1. It's terrible. Would never go back. |
| We had a terrible meal and service experience at Bourbon steak earlier this year. It had really gone downhill. |
| Bourbon at the Four seasons. |
| I love Carmine's in DC for that aesthetic -- although it is Italian rather than pure steak house. Morton's or The Capital Grille will always work (I haven't had great luck with Ruth's Chris). |
| Cut by Wolfgang Puck in Georgetown. Amazing! |
