| DD’s top choice and she wants to apply ED as a chemistry major. Anyone have recent experience at Emory? |
| Top pre med school. Excellent in life sciences. Good well rounded school in an exceptionally safe part of Atlanta. |
| It is a really nice place to be a student. |
| DS was a health major. Loved his experience and was given generous fin aid. Certainly deserves it's T25 ranking if not higher. He ironically works in finance now. |
| What's her stats?; |
| My comp sci kid looked at Emory not knowing they did not have a School of Engineering. |
I won't go to Emory for computer science. MIT or UCB is better. |
| Emory CS is actually pretty good from an outcomes standpoint. Very high post grad salary |
| Lovely part of Atlanta |
Or Georgia Tech, in the same city. |
| DD just finished her sophomore year and LOVES it. The Chemistry Department is very strong. She has taken full advantage of Atlanta. The academics are challenging but not overwhelming. Great place for a kid who is not into the whole rah-rah college scene but still wants a social environment. It does have a slightly pre-professional vibe with many students in the business school or pre-med but the liberal arts are strong as well. The only downside I can thinking is that Juniors and Seniors can not live on the main campus. They either live off-campus or on the Clairmont campus which is a mile away with frequent shuttle service. |
GT CS grads actually make less than Emory CS grads. |
Please don’t try to argue that Emory cs is as good as Georgia Tech, it’s embarrassing for you. |
| Stats are 3.9UW from private school and 34 ACT |
| Atlanta is always a real cultural hub as well - artists, musicians (a lively music scene). Politics and heat aside,, it's ideal. And the campus is beautiful. |
