| What is your HHI? |
|
12k saved.
Child is 5. HHI is 140k |
|
Barely anything. She's 14 and we have about $10k saved.
|
| HHI 120k, 62k saved for 14 year old in 529, another 20k in ibonds earmarked. Planning on in-state public, but who knows for sure. |
|
~$60k, 4y/o, $350k HHI
We put $40k ($20k/account) in when she was born because you are able to take the DC deduction over 5 years. I think we'll front load another $40 next year and call it funded unless we have some kind of windfall. |
|
$200K HHI
$200K saved total for upcoming HS Senior and Sophomore |
| We have about 180k left. two are out and the last one has 2 more years of medical school. 180k should be enough to cover it. |
|
Child is 17 rising senior, we saved just enough for state tuition (four year college).
HHI-N/A, it was very high, now low, very glad we saved for college. |
Without including actual numbers, this comment is useless. How much did you save? What was your high HHI, what is it now? I think the main goal of this thread is to give people a sense of how they compare to others with similar HHIs and kids at similar ages, so if you don't give us numbers you might as well say nothing. |
| $50-$75k per kid (we have three). They're all under 10. We're contributing the maximum to our 529s each year. HHI is $350K. |
| Oldest kid starts college this fall. We’re paying through cash flow and didn’t save a specific amount for college. |
|
We have about 50k saved across 529s for 3 kids - 5, 3, 1. HHI 250K.
529s have not been a priority, we have focused on maxing retirement and backdoor Roth contributions. We don't plan to be able to pay for college with 529s alone. We will cash flow a big chunk and encourage merit scholarship opportunities and in-state tuition. |
| We saved enough for 4.5 years of VA state schools for each kid. Neither went to a state school so we’ve been cash flowing the rest. HHI north of $500k |
| I have appr. $8k saved and my DS starts college in September. My HHI is $81k (teacher). |
| We had about $120k per kid. Now have a college junior and college freshman. Both will likely have $$ leftover in their 529s. Older kid is at Virginia Tech and the younger going to Juniata. Each school's cost is <$30k/yr |
