When is a post too long to read? - are you M or F?

Some posts are just too long for me to read all the way. I think it's a guy thing or my low IQ thing. The max I can stay focused is about 5 lines. Some posts with multiple paragraphs, I just give up. What is your max? M or F?

Entirely dependent on the subject and style of the writer. I can read a 5-6 paragraph post if it's engaging and on a topic I care about.

But sometimes I'll click into a thread where my interest is more cursory. For instance, I had a hard-to-potty-train kid and will sometimes click on threads by parents struggling with potty training because I think I might have something to offer. But I'm not going to read 5 paragraphs on why potty training is going poorly for you. I'll either read three sentences and respond based on that, or bail.

Female, long posts annoy me. Get to the point and don't babble. I don't read long posts or long responses.

Usually 2-3 paragraphs before I give up - but like PP said, it can depend on how well it's written, how much I'm interested in the topic, and how desperately my ADHD is demanding me not get my actual work done.

I'd say it's much easier to get through posts with short paragraphs than the stream of consciousness treatises some posters put up.

Even if it's one sentence, if there are typos I become disinterested. It takes two seconds to review what you wrote and fix errors!

Its not a guy thing. I'm the most impatient person on the planet and I'm female and in my 50s. I've not got more or less impatient than when I was younger, just better able to disguise it.

I cannot stand the long, rambling posts some people here write, they are so boring.

One paragraph max or a series of bullets is fine. Longer ones make me crazy...get to the point already.

I’m a woman. I find it ridiculous that posters think folks want to read a six- or seven-page post here. And, if you do create one, you’d better be a damn good writer! 🤣🤣 Even then I’m still not reading it.

I have to read large documents for work.

I refuse to read long winded posts on DCUM. We do not need the back story.

More than 5 lines tend to be drama and over thinking the subject/situation.

Some people are drawn to long stories.
