Traveilng with a 4th and 2nd grader end of March. Here are the options on table
1. Panama. We went to Costa Rica last year and loved it. Easy flights and love the beach/outdoors options 2. Mexico City + beach. I've never been to Mexico City. Flights will be more expensive. 3. National Park trip. We want to do the Utah 5 next year, but htinking might be better to save it for June with weather. Open to antoher national park idea though Looking to spend around $5K for flights plus lodging. |

1 or 2.
I have similar aged kids and also thinking about the Utah 5, but weather is a big consideration. Late March is still too cold. |

| I've not been to Panama or Mexico but I vote 1. |

I know a few families who enjoyed Panama, but I’m curious why you aren’t considering the Caribbean? The beaches are far better, and you can find fun outdoorsy stuff to do beyond the typical beach vacation.
Mexico City entails risks nobody talks about here. I know dc area professionals who travel there for business and they are required to use armored vehicles/armed security. These aren’t political positions btw. Think: Big Law. |

Panama is pretty similar to Costa Rica. Similar animals.
That said, check availability at the Tranquilo Bay Ecolodge. We went this year and it was amazing. Super easy, short flight to the islands from Panama City. The Panama City airport is ten minutes from the city and is super small. It's like 200 steps from check in to the gate. |
Omg you say this in every thread about Mexico City. Give it a rest! |
| Love Panama City and Bocas, so that’s my vote! So cheap once you arrive. |
