Men’s Tee Shirts

Anonymous

I’ll preface this observation by stating that I live in a SoCal suburb (not coastal), but I have noticed that T shirts have really become a casual fashion staple for men. I get that some of them are more upscale and cut nicely, but I am wondering when they became so ubiquitous for all ages. I know men have always worn t-shirts, but I feel like they were mostly worn by guys in the trades.

My husband is retired and really struggles to dress casually and look put together. Well, I struggle- he doesn’t care. While shopping for him, I’ve noticed the shirt choices are sort of limited. Business attire is easy. Summer casual more difficult. You either have a golf polo in a tech fabric or cotton- neither are really great if you’re on the heavier side. After that, it’s iterations on silk/rayon camp shirts or plaid cotton- and both look sort of boxy and dated. Right now reverse print Reyn Spooners in as low key of color and print as I can find are what’s working. What type of casual shirts do your heavier husbands wear in summer?
