We are relocating to DC and I’m helping my spouse find a job here. He’s in finance and has series 7 and 66 licenses. Where should he be applying to? What are the top financial/investment banking/private equity firms in the area? Thanks so much!

LOL so your spouse isnt educated enough or well connected to use google or ask people at his firm? He’s not going from IA to PE or IB. They’re entirely different roles and you have no clue what you’re asking for.

Who does he advise? Individuals on their retirements or big corporations on their M&A or strategy?

Investment Advisory is very different from traditional Investment Banking (M&As, IPOs, complex restructuring). Someone who works in Investment Advisory is not going to be able to just switch to Investment Banking work nor will they be able to jump over to paths like PE (which usually are looking for people with 3 years+ of IB experience).
