Switching non-public placement? Has anyone done it?

My child has a non-public placement through DCPS/OSSE. School is great but there are reasons it’s not the right fit.
Found out there might be a spot at another school that all parties seem to agree would be a perfect fit. How do I go about getting him switched over? Contact DCPS? I don’t think we have an OSSE contact anymore since he was placed… has anyone done this?

You have to do it through the IEP process - so call an IEP meeting to discuss a change of placement. Include everyone who is normally at the meetings.

Do it fast though b/c there are long waiting lists everywhere. Get the school to hold the seat.
