Kids (tween and younger teen) now have different spring breaks ,‘only about 10 days overlap at Xmas and summer is usually all over the place. Trying to find a nice winter break that also won’t break the bank (we are not luxury travelers; like to spend our money on more frequent travel at the expense of higher end).
Not particularly interested in Caribbean and we don’t ski. Have been (with kids) to Mexico (Yucatán and Baja); Jamaica Belize Costa Rica …Europe we have taken them to paris London Budapest…lots of California trips with family (that’s summer trip usually)…. Considering Venice/Veneto; southern Italy:Barcelona: costa Rica again (osa peninsula this time); Mexico City….please I would love to hear suggestions for about 8 days in winter! |
| Do you care if its warm? Arizona? Miami/Florida keys? |
| Christmas markets in Germany? |
Op here Not especially but I also think super cold (Montreal) or gray rainy all the time if it’s primarily an outdoor trip is not enjoyable . But a European city where there is a lot to do indoors as well is fine. I thought about Venice because it’s less crowded then (I’ve been there in November and December before but kids have never been) Germany is an idea…I am not as familiar as I am with France , have been to Berlin years ago, Stuttgart (work) and Munich but I’m sure we could spend a week in Berlin and have a lot to do and see. I should add that we’ve done plenty of beach vacations , would like something else. Grand Canyon and arches, Zion etc is on the horizon but I think it would be chilly for hiking.! |

You could do California:
SoCal: beaches, Getty museum, Hollywood sign, theme parks NorCal: Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman’s Wharf, sampling all kinds of food, Japanese gardens |
