missing mcsl divisionals

Do kids miss mcsl divisionals? We don't have conflicts for All-Stars but divisionals look tough- will we be castigated up and down for missing it? Why can't summer swim just be for fun grumble grumble....

I don't think people care. Just be sure to mark you are not attending so someone else gets to swim.

First response is best response! Thanks!

I think kids below your kid in time would be perfectly happy because then they get to swim. It’s not a problem at all.

Swim team rep here. Just mark as unavailable when declarations open and it’s all good. Or it would be at the pool for which I rep.

THANK YOU so much to all of you- makes me feel so much better (and less guilty!)

Yes our reps and coach even mentioned this year to remember that if your kid is one of the faster kids and they don't swim - it actually gives other kids opportunities so don't worry about it too much. It can be good for everyone for others to get a shot!

And you can miss all stars too. There is no benefit to your pool standings for swimming all stars - completely individual and likely another kid will be psyched to have the spot.

Although, if your kid makes it in a relay, the other kids in the relay could be sad.

I thought Divisional meets can matter significantly if your team is close to promotion or relegation with regard to its current division?
