I am a roundabout advocate. However, OP is correct. The "roundabout" on Nutley was designed by a drunken three year old. The one on Park is just stupid.

OP. I like the way they are designed in NJ. Not at random places, and with some thought. Have you seen the one on Hunter Mill Road? Absolutely not needed and takes up so much road real estate! Same goes for the one on Nutley. Idiots!

The roundabout near my home is a free-for-all with cars in the roundabout routinely yielding to let other cars in and cars approaching the roundabout playing chicken with the cars in the roundabout by not slowing down to yield.

The stupid one on Hunter Mill Road was built only because the people who live on Mystic Meadow Way pressured their supervisor. They were upset that it was hard to make a left on HM Road during rush hour. Poor babies. And, they are the ones that don't even know how to use their stupid roundabout. The only good thing about the roundabout is that there are no longer cops hanging around there trying to catch speeders.
