Here's my dilemma. After years of pedicures with only a few months off during the winter, my toe nails looked awful. Ridged and white spots. During covid, I worked to get them healthy again. Now they look pretty good, but they still aren't perfect - a little dry looking. Any time I put any sort of polish, even the "breathable" kind, I get white spots after a couple days with polish, that take a good 2-3 weeks to go away again.
So, I don't love how they are looking now bare and I'm thinking of getting a pedicure with polish to cover them up, but I know that all my hard work will be negated if I do that. What do you think? Just go ahead and get it or keep my bare and relatively healthy nails? |
| I wouldn't get a pedicure, just use polish when going to an event and clean at night. Use olive oil and take Nutrafol, it helps with hair and nails. |
| You can still get a pedi so they look neat and tidy (assuming you can't do that yourself) and just ask them to not polish. If you can keep this neat and tidy yourself, just do that. |
This is what I do, for both hands and feet. They — or you — can also smooth any ridges and buff the nails so they look healthy with a subtle gloss even without polish. |
| Following. I've been getting monthly pedis for a year now. Even through the winter. This past month I noticed thr dry whitish spots and know I need a polish break. I'm dreading going bare but I know I have to. Good ides on the oil. I also plan on using a nail.buffer to gently shine. |
| My polish break is when I stop wearing sandals. For me, that means from late Sept thru April (7 months). |
