| Please recommend a reliable place to buy houseplants that do not come with bugs. |
| Wegmans has lovely plants. I’ve purchased many there |

I buy from Home Depot and have only got one buggy one in many years, whereas I got multiple buggy ones from a nice plant place.
I isolate them when I bring them home, just in case. Repotting immediately could also help you feel better about it. |

Plant nursery. They're well cared for there, by knowledgeable people.
In terms of bugs, I've never ever seen bugs in any of my house plants. Have you had issues in the past? |

Wegmans has huge, healthy and cheap plants right now. IKEA, Home Depot and Lowe’s are also worth investigating.
There’s a place called Plants Alive in Silver Spring that gets rave reviews but it’s really expensive compared to the box stores. |

Merrifield Garden Center
Also, keep in mind that some plants do you have bugs, but they’re not under stress and you won’t notice them. Sometimes things are in the soil. So it’s best to assume everything as pests and keep an eye out. There’s a great group on Facebook called DMV Beneficials that is good to belong to, they have great advice for plant care and are able to order beneficial insects affordably. |
| Not Trader Joe’s |
| Home Depot |
| I bought a bunch from Little Leaf and had them delivered. They were great quality, particularly the large rubber plants and monstera. |
| Are you in DC? Ginkgo Gardens is my fave. |
I came here to recommend TJ: I've had ridiculously good luck with many over the years (some less so, but... at least they were then $5 instead of $40! |
| IKEA has the cheapest plants |
| Etsy |

If you are in NoVa and can ever visit this place, it is a magical little treasure box of houseplants (and co-located with an adorable bookstore) on a charming street in Leesburg:

| Recently bought two plants (one yucca and one bird of paradise) at Ikea. So far so good. |
