Rec Gyn menopause

Can anyone recommend a gynecologist who specializes in menopause? I can’t tell you how many of seen who basically have no clue. Thank you so much.

Tavicare (doesn't take insurance, though)

I remain happy with Capital Women’s Care. Especially their GYNs who are no longer OBs (they don’t deliver babies) and are focused on women who are done/not interested in pregnancy. In Silver Spring on Georgia Ave.

I find that you might want to use a telehealth service for this: MIDI, Alloy, Gennev are the big ones. They get it.

Midi is great because they take insurance…

Also doesn't take insurance, but 100% worth it: https://www.tysonsgynecology.com/

Nobody who doesn't take your insurance is worth it. There will isn't a shortage. Its better to go to ones who are only practicing gyne because you don't want busy obstetricians.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Camilla Hersh and she is great. Is helping me with menopause and bone density as well. She no longer does deliveries so she can focus on GYN care.

Dr. Susan Hurson in DC is fabulous, but doesn't take insurance. https://www.drsusanhurson.com/

Some of us might appreciate the extra attention and consideration you get with a doctor who doesn't take insurance. They can order all the the tests you need without worrying (labs are generally covered by insurance), and you generally get a smaller, more well-run practice. Certainly a privilege, but worth paying for it if you can afford it and/or have serious issues.

Dr. Heather Johnson at RHJN, but she is retiring at the end of this year. I would suggest seeing her anyway, but if you're looking for someone for the long-term, start here: https://portal.menopause.org/NAMS/NAMS/Directory/Menopause-Practitioner.aspx

Dr Tobie Beckerman is awesome. She doesn't take insurance but will help fill out the forms so you get reimbursed.

anyone know what the range of charges would be? I don't see any sort of fee schedule -- which is a curious omission for a doc who doesn't take insurance.
