wife always sits on her husband's lap- am I a prude?

Anonymous
Friends of ours do this all the time, at small or large social gatherings. It drives me crazy, but I am likely just being a prude-right?
Anonymous
Yes, you are. Not just a prude, but miserable. If she's not jacking him off, I don't see why you'd be bothered.

what are you bored and recycling old threads?

Well, I admit to being a prude about public displays. But miserable- not so much. Perfectly happy and very happy in my private life.

No, I don't live on DCUM and would have no way of knowing this was on here before. Silly.

in that case, yes, you are a prude, and probably sexually frustrated and jealous!

Read the link to the old post on this and I am being a prude! Ok, I will relax about it. Perhaps if I weren't a tall woman, I would do this too. It just never occurred to me! Let's put this one to rest. Thanks.

Really, can you make a comment without the added commentary? No, to the latter comments.

insecurity on your friend's part

Do you ever see MEN sitting on their wives' laps?

Unless there is a shortage of seating at a picnic, bbq, or outdoor concert or something equally casual, mildly tacky and adolescent. But not really horrible.

Are they frenching or groping one another? Is she straddling him, facing one another? Is there dry-humping taking place? If any of these scenarios are true, then you have a case. Otherwise...........are you serious? Not all intimacy is sexual and I think it's fantastic if this couple is so affectionate with one another. I think spouses who keep their nonsexual intimacy and affection intact -- public or private -- are the ones who have it right, not the other way around.

I sometimes sit on my wife's lap. She is strong, like bear.

I sit on DH's lap and we sit on the same side of the booth.
I don't know what's people's problem with it. We're very affectionate and I don't know why some feel so offended by it.

She sits on her husband's lap. I would say that unless she attempts to sit on your husband's lap it is none of you effing business.
