My DD meet someone on YouTube and they exchange numbers, and now he send her pictures of his *****!
What can we do? Block him or just call the police? If she’s doesn’t send him anything he will call the cops.. I will be taking to her about giving out her number, but what can we do with the picture issue? |
| He threatened her with calling the cops if she doesn't send him a picture? She should definitely block and report |
| Nothing. You do nothing. Unless she is underage, then call the police to report and have the man arrested. |
|
It’s a scam.
Block the number and tell your kid not to communicate with people she doesn’t know in person. |
|
Block and call the police non emergency number to report.
You need to get control of her devices. |
| Yes, to block. Teach your DD NOT to meet people online. |
| Are you sure she hasn’t sent him anything? I’d report it to the police and provide them copies of the messages. |
|
The Police will not do a report for this fyi. Block the number and talk to your kid about not talking to strangers online.
( police call taker) |
Why not? I thought if it was a minor it was child s3xual exploitation and breaks federal law |
|
If he threatened to call the cops on her, he might already have explicit images of her. She either doesn’t know because he hacked her accounts and stole them or she doesn’t want to admit it to you. Here is some info and a service that might help.

| https://www.missingkids.org/home is not just about missing kids, it is also about cyber crimes just like this. It's a great resource. |

Metro PD in DC is completely useless here. They will not do anything.
They never do. |
It doesn’t make sense that he would threaten to call the cops, even if he had pictures of her already. Call them for what? To report himself for extorting explicit photos from a minor? |
And she need a new phone number and new email addresses with new passwords . ASAP. |
Its not always about what the police do or do not do right now. Later on if there is a reason to point to this prior incident, the first question will be, "Well then, why didn't you bother to file a police report?" |
