ordering food/drink

Anonymous
If you go somewhere and order something and after 2-3 times they say they are out of that item, do you wonder if they are just saying that?

Ex:

Me: Can I have the blue drink?

Cashier: No, we are out of that.

Me: Ok, can I have the red drink?

Cashier: No, we are out of that too.

Me: Ok, can I have the pink drink?

Cashier: Sorry.

Me: Can I have the purple drink?

Cashier: yes, what size?

At this point, I wonder if they finally are giving in or were they really out of all of those drinks!

That's bad customer service. Decent waitstaff will say "I'm sorry, we're out of Sprite, but would you like 7-Up or ginger ale?" They should be the ones offering an alternative.

Well that's what I dealt with today, maybe I should just ask what they do have after I'm told no the first time.

Does this happen frequently to you?

What in the world are you talking about?

You think restaurants that are fully in stock of an item are telling you they're out because...why?

Where did this happen??

Communication is a 2 way street. You could have asked them what they have
