Solicitations for financial advice

Anonymous
I keep getting mailers inviting me to dinner at a steakhouse but never went to one. I really am not looking for financial advice and don't want to attend one of these and have it turn into something like a timeshare pitch situation.. Has anyone attended these? How naggy do they get? How persistent is the follow up?

We have been to several (more than 2, less than 5). They present their sales pitch, you eat dinner with some strangers who sometimes turn out to be interesting, you leave. They might send one follow up letter? But have never bothered us

Thanks! The recent letter we got focuses on education and does not even say who the invitee is. So, maybe I'll give it a shot!
