Fun places to take two 10 year old girls? [VA]

I want to invite DD's friend for a playdate but I'll be happier if we do something not at my house. It's hard to hold the friend's attention (that's part of why I don't want her at my place) so ideally something that fully occupies a set amount of time, rather than something open ended like "the park." Thinking movie, pottery painting ... what else? I'll spend a small amount.

Public pool? Took my daughter to the pool yesterday and she had a blast with the waterslides. She would have loved for a friend to come along. Her brother was at preschool.

My girls loved a day running thru the sprinkler and playing in enormous baby pool. Would that be an option. A day of outdoor play along with lunch outside and a few other fun activities like water balloons. Do kids that age still make slime?
