dropping off rental car at Rome airport - is one better than the other?

Anonymous
We will be dropping off a rental car at the Rome airport, then staying in a rental outside the airport. Is there a rental car agency that's easier/harder to get to for drop off when the intention is not to check in for a flight? Looking at Hertz, Enterprise, Avis. Enterprise and Avis appear to be on a slightly separate road than Hertz, but not sure if it's a meaningful difference. Hertz is cheaper, but we also want easier...

No, it’s all the same (just did this with Hertz last month). It’s literally like most other airports, a different part of the parking lot. Not big deal at all.

Thank you! I figured that should be the case, but wanted to double check.

You’re welcome. Like with most places, if you get confused, you can just loop around again. Just give yourself time if you have a flight to catch (like an extra hour), because it’s a shlep from the rental car return to the terminal and then to the check in counter, exiting the EU, security and then your gate. It takes a while.

Do you return Hertz cars in a parking garage where you take a ticket a go up a level or two?

My family will be returning a car before heading into Rome, and I am dreading this. Love having a car for the countryside, hate dealing with the return.

Yes. It’s a bit of a pain, just give yourself some time.
