Thought I finally was on my way……

I am 56 and still have fairly regular periods. It’s fluctuated here and there. In the last three or so years, the periods have been insanely heavy. I thought the end was near when 90 days went by without a period. But a week ago the period came back and lasted seven days. I feel like I might set a record

Agree. That sucks.

7 days is a short period for me. When I was a teen, my periods lasted two weeks, and I became anemic. My mother is the same and needed blood transfusions.

Anyhow. Sorry you're dealing with this, OP. It's frequent to experience this as a last gasp before menopause, but mention it all the same to your Gyn.

+1 My really heavy perimenopausal periods turned out to be fibroids.

I turn 55 in a week and just got a “surprise” after a year. Will see doctor, but my clock is now reset. I’m hoping it’s just a Covid aftereffect. I seriously had been planning to donate all my supplies this weekend.

Yep, that's how it works. All the craziness of menopause, things calm down, months of no period, and then SURPRISE!
