Traffic Ticket - Go to Court or Pay

Anonymous
I got a ticket for making an illegal u-turn in Vienna. The cop told me that I have a spotless record and that if I go to court I may be able to get it waived (or something similar). But also mentioned that it is not a given.

Can anyone let me know what the chances are for getting it waived?

Main issue is that the court time makes it tough for me to attend as it coincides with kids school drop-off. Every court date starts at the same time so just postponing does not solve this issue.

Paying the fee is not an issue but trying to avoid getting points.

Appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you!

Is your argument to the court going to be "I didn't do it" or "I did it and I'm sorry but please remove the ticket"? If the former, you might do ok depending on what facts you can muster, especially if the officer doesn't show. If the latter, I have no idea how likely it is in your part of VA.
