Middle school at GDS, Sidwell and Maret, others?

We have a child in 2nd grade and we plan to move her in either 3rd or 4th grade or possibly wait until 6th or 7th grade. Any opinion on which is the best year to move or least best year to move? Or should we wait until 9th grade??

Is there an ideal time to make this transition or a more vulnerable time? Do children who move into these schools in the middle years have a harder time fitting in?

Maret's main admission years are 4th adn 7th grade. They typically don't take kids between those grades except if there's attrition. Sidwell has the same policy for 4th grade.

Yes, that's an intake year, but I don't know the numbers.
