DC Parking Enforcement Query

Anonymous
So, I was parked downtown near GW today in a two-hour parking zone — in one of those spots where you pay at a machine then put the little piece of paper on your windshield showing how long you can stay.

I needed to park for three hours but was in the neighborhood, so before my two hours ran up I paid for additional parking and replaced the paper ticket on my windshield showing that I had paid for my time …

…only to receive a parking ticket.

Is this something I can contest because I have proof that I paid? Or is the two-hour time-limit non-renewable?

Thanks.

Yep — only way that works is to actually move your car to a different two hour zone spot.
