I’m not a huge supplement/vitamin person, but our ped mentioned fish oil. What’s a good fish oil supplement for a kid?
Nordic naturals
Barlean's Omega-3s, we're currently using the orange cream and a spoonful is delicious.
We look for the mini versions because those can be big pills. Agree with Nordic.
Rosita brand
Nordic naturals is good. Our kid got really aggressive with fish oils for some reason.
Barleans is a favorite among ASD families especially if kids can’t swallow large pills. It has virtually no fishy taste.
I switched before the pandemic after years of ordering the lemon flavored product through our developmental pediatrician. Several rancid batches. |
Bumping this to see if anyone has seen an improvement in language after adding in fish oil? It’s a battle to get my 5 year old dd to take any form of it but her dr keeps pushing us to get a big dosage into her. I haven’t really forced it to this point
dp. Switched to what? |

My husband is a doctor and has always given Nordic Naturals to our kids. One of our children was born with special needs and had a severe language delay until mid-elementary. It's hard to say what helped, since he's had a ton of therapies, school accommodations, tutoring, etc, but he got into a great college and his psych told us his IQ subscore for verbal cognition is now at the 99th percentile.
