Succession and Siobhan Roy fashion

I’m late to the succession party, but I remember seeing all these articles about Siobhan/shiv Roy’s stealth wealth style and the characters great business fashion sense. I expected some amazing fashion inspiration but I hate most of her wardrobe.

It’s mostly drab ill fitting suits with turtlenecks and awkward blazers with costumey pinstripes. There’s a few winners but I was expecting better from the hype.

Anyone else feel this way or did I just lose all sense of style

I think the show is also going for hyper-realism, as in this is how actual people like this dress (very expensive clothing in bland neutrals and often not particularly striking or interesting), whereas the vast majority of even realistic television and movies will go for a slightly more elevated or interesting version of what people actually wear, simply to add visually interest to what you are seeing. Succession is very committed to not trying to delight your visual senses. It's just neutral cashmere sweaters, private jets, black SUVs, board rooms and tastefully decorated penthouses, the end.

But yeah, I love Sarah Snook but Shiv Roy is not a fashion icon. Kendall sort of is, but not because he looks good -- because the show so perfectly captures how a guy like that would dress, from the baseball caps and sneakers in formal work environments to the weird bespoke t-shirts and sweats that cost two months rent for someone like me. It doesn't look "good" exactly, but it says a lot about him as a character. Whereas Shiv's character is really not about the clothes.

I did like her wedding dress and hairstyle though.
