I have twins that are both going to need a lot of orthodondia in the next several years. Our pediatric dentist (Camps) is fine but a rather long drive for what I expect will be pretty frequent and long term visits.
Can anyone recommend a good practice or two (we will probably do a few consults) that can handle advanced issues (e.g., missing adult teeth) in NW DC or Silver Spring. We are east of RCP in NWDC so probably Weaton or Chevy Chase MD fine too. Thanks! |
| Sorry .. Wheaton, MD. |
| Erickson and Hong |
This! I’m a dentist and both my kids went there. They’re pretty conservative, which I like. |

Bumping an old thread to ask the same question and seek updates. If you have someone you/your teen love working with, please let me know. DC or close-in MD preferred.
Does anyone have any experience(s) to share about either Scott Orthodontics in Silver Spring, or The Silver Spring Orthodontist? |
This Silver Spring Orthodontist is Erickson and Hong who were mentioned earlier. Although Erickson passed this year, sadly. I have not yet met the new dentist. I really like Dr. Hong and the practice is well run. |
| Bird Smiles in Tenleytown. My kid just started there. We know several families that go there. Seems good so far. |
Scott was actually my orthodontist as a child (yes, decades ago). He hasn’t aged, it seems. I would recommend him and am actually considering him for my kids soon. |

If you are in NWDC, then you might like the location of the orthodontist across from BCC High School.
His name is Dr. Heller. They run a tight ship. He is nice enough, but they do get you through there like you are a factory part on a conveyer belt. The office is close-ish to a metro, and there is paid parking under the building. I wondered if the Invisalign took so long due to his errors since I wore them religiously. Hard to say for sure. |
