Not sure if this is a good forum or food/dining, but to me it’s health/diet related. Probably two questions -
Ok, when it’s hot, esp if it’s a day I’m going outside for a long kid activity, I still would like a hit of caffeine, but creamy iced coffee doesn’t sound good. I do some iced tea, but would love other ideas. Looking for refreshing, with some caffeine. Not too much sugar, and I don’t like any sugar alternatives, which seems to be a big issue. Similarly, sometimes I just crave a good classic Coke! Esp at the pool. Both for taste and for the caffeine. But trying to be healthier and I do feel like if I give in, rather than just satisfying me and letting me move on, I want another coke the next day. I know it doesn’t have caffeine, but how is the Cola La Croix? Contrary to how this sounds, I don’t have a ton of caffeine! Usually just a couple of cups of hot tea!!! Looking for good summer options. |
I would try more tea varieties and more varieties of sparkling water. |
Do you drink Mexican Coke? It has actual cane sugar. If I have one I don’t crave more, unlike the typical US Coke with high fructose corn syrup.
I also drink homemade, unsweetened iced tea with lemon. I’ll squeeze half a lemon in per glass. Very refreshing! If I’m near Starbucks, I also like their unsweetened black iced tea. |
I did switch from a daily diet to a daily la croix.
I drink one cup of coffee in the morning and that’s it. I have sleep problems so I don’t allow more caffeine for myself. |
Me again - I try not to drink my calories as a general matter so I really try to drink 1 coffee, 1 la croix and otherwise regular water but if I’m feeling really crazy I like an Arnold Palmer. |
Try a matcha latte or smoothie! |
OP here - thank you! I’m loving these ideas!! |
Liquid IV energy. Or Kombucha. A good pre workout drink. |
Iced matcha latte, styrene to your preference. I like mine with honey |
Black iced coffee is awesome in the summer - no need for milk if you can drink it that way or just a bit of real sugar with no dairy.
And yes to sparkling water of a variety of flavors. |
