I switched to my plate from MyFitnessPal because their app was so full of other stuff it took forever to make entries.
Now MyPlate is closing down abruptly. Surprised since it was owned by LiveStrong but now by Leaf? Any recommendations for a good fitness app? I don’t mind paying like $15/year or $60 for full version, just can’t justify a $15/month which is like my streaming bill. |
I used MyPlate because it linked to my watch fitness with all movement & exercise, plus was so simple to use. Then read the email today & started searching. My Fitness Pal is so annoying with the adds & not as user friendly. I did find LoseIt which I already like better right off the bat. Plus they will offer the Premium at 50% off the yearly price for the first 24 hrs, making premium $20 for the year. But you can still use the free as well & way less annoying than the other app. |
I recently found out that I can get Noom for free with my insurance. I was looking for something else on the Carefist / BCBS website and came across it as a benefit. I used it when it first came out and hated it, but it’s been greatly improved. It lacks many features I loved in LoseIt though, such as easy macro tracking and planning meals ahead of time. But it’s free so giving it a shot before I renew my LoseIt subscription. |
I like LoseIt a lot. I had read that once in a while or around Black Friday, LoseIt may offer a heavily discounted lifetime subscription. So far, they've offered me 50% off an annual subscription, so I'm holding out. |
I was bummed to see that email too OP. I've used it for years and find it very user friendly, unlike the Cronometer app. |
I’m a big fan of the app “Macros” (Orange branding with an apple on the logo.)
It not only allows you to track calories but also gives you a quick view on your protein, carb, and fat intake. The search function works well and they have a barcode scanner. They allow you to report incorrect items and make changes to them. Additionally they have an option to create “recipes” that are composed of a bunch of ingredients and split into servings. I switched from MyPlate to Macros a few years ago and I recommend it. |
I’m disgusted that MyPlate didn’t let me know that they were closing down! I kept using it until I couldn’t get anywhere with the site. Very disheartening if them! |
I like Yazio. It has fast tracking which I find helpful. Like any new app you’ll have to learn its layout, but after that it’s pretty easy. |
Really? Because I got an email prior to them shutting the app down that it was happening. My guess is you don't read all of your emails. |
