Free Time

How much time do you give your kids after they have a bath or shower before they need to get dressed? Mine probably wouldn’t wear clothes at all if they didn’t have to.

Um what? My kids take a bath/shower and then put on PJs. But they both like clothes. Sometimes they rub around in underpants and a tshirt. But they have to have pants on for meals.

I mean, what happens next? Does it require clothes?

My kid regularly sleeps in just her underwear -- she's more comfortable that way and hey, less laundry for me. Same if she takes a bath and then is just playing or watching TV. No bare butts on furniture, but if she's wearing clean underwear, it's fine.

If we are leaving the house, she needs to get dressed before we leave the house. Pretty hard and fast rule there.

So this literally never comes up.

None.

My 7 year old goes straight to his room after shower, but usually will read naked until lights out. Maybe 30 minutes? I think it's more like he just doesn't get around to putting pajamas on until he's reminded to do so. Same in the morning, he will go downstairs in just underwear or maybe a tshirt and stay that way until we leave the house.

My 10yo DD puts clothes on after shower ( at night) currently that’s a tank top and sleep shorts.

We’re not too strict about it. Kids get a bath and play for a while in the tub and then sometime before bed they get dressed but it doesn’t matter when it happens.

In the summer mine usually only sleep in a T -shirt and overnight. In the morning they are usually don’t get dressed until I tell them to.

I don't know, my skinny kid cannot wait to put on PJs after shower. He's shivering as soon as step out of shower. I don't know about kids that are well insulated by body fat.

After baths they usually wrap up in a towel and go in the living room. It’s usually just us at home so I don’t care if they aren’t dressed right away.

maybe 5 min. We'll brush hair and put on lotion, then it's time for pjs.

I've never thought once about this.

Mine do not care at all about clothes. We are laid back and it’s not an issue when we’re at home.

They dress right away but only dress half their body. Two kids wear enough to clothe one person.
