What’s grinding your gears this week dCUM!

Lots of argumentative people on this board, what irked y’all at work this week?

We got a bum employee and my boss doesn’t want to manage them. Boss is very anti conflict and would rather the rest of the team be unhappy instead of smashin the bug.

My boss quit, and is being replaced with someone wholly unqualified to do the work. Something along the lines of an intern managing senior partners at a law firm. Everyone on the team is looking to leave. It’s a race out the door.

Our company is being run into the ground by an arrogant billion dollar owner. Lost almost 100 million last quarter.

And somehow the fault lies on the little guys (seriously, like first year sales people. Kids.). Tired of having to apologies to junior employees and setting their expectations on this is how toxic an adult job is

Combo of all of the above lol. Right now we’re having to do the work of a terrible, arrogant, inept, unqualified person who is in charge of our biggest line of business. That person bullies all the recent grads and blames them for everything.

The awful person can’t be removed. Untouchable.

I was so mad today I had to ask my best friend at work to talk me down.

Two things. New President who wants us back in the office 4-5 days a week. A colleague who did almost nothing over the last two years when all the grinding groundwork happened and now that the project is coming to the finish line and is looking much better than initially anticipated, wants to take a lot of credit (while still being the person who for the life of me can’t get anything done!!!).

Coworkers in another department want to pass off their work to other departments that have nothing to do with the tasks and management lets them.

My boss either actively dislikes me or at best does not care about setting me up for success in any way, shape or form so I have a confusing job title, oversee a confusing (but lovely) team and no one is obliged to use me/ us or bring us into anything but I still have the same financial targets as if I had any real power or mandate. I basically eat sh*t every day all day.

I think my coworker is on the autism spectrum and that’s why she gets so much leeway

I’m not getting anywhere with a negotiation so I’m going to have to use more public pressure than I like, and it never works out well when I do that. It’s expected from me though, so I have to put my neck out there again, even though it probably won’t yield a substantive win. It’s like racing for a participation trophy, but I don’t get a trophy. I get to keep my job (maybe?) but ruin my reputation with my network. If my employer eventually decides to cut me loose, I’ll have a bunch of enemies and very few friends. I need a new line of work.

I’m forced to go to this work training class, and I’m stuck with this group of people that is talking all over me. It’s also a very touchy-feely class and so far we’ve just been getting in touch with our feelings a lot.

Calgon, take me away. Cannot wait until Friday.
