Lululemon

Are your tween obsessed with lululemon l?
Do you buy them items? Have them spend their own money? It seem pricey for what it is but the obsession is real

Obsessed, yes. Do I let them buy it? No.

Wow, still? I'm from Canada, originally. In HS (1998 and beyond), we were all wearing Lululemon and TNA leggings. Mine aren't, but I do buy them what they like and would if that's what they wanted. Mine are more interested in sneakers.

My DD likes LL and has a handful of items, but isn’t obsessed. They make good bday/Xmas gifts.

My 13 yo wears my lululemon castoffs, but that’s about it. She just doesn’t care and would wear any black leggings I threw her way.

I’ve bought a few things for birthdays and Christmas. Both my girls buy a lot of Lulu with their own money at consignment stores, both brick and mortar and online. You could suggest going that route.

Lululemon is still popular, but eBay and Poshmark are flooded with listings and the prices are definitely lower. TikTok has made wearing dupes acceptable/trendy. Alo is popular and still pricey on the secondary market.

I don’t even buy it for myself, so no.

Why is that specific brand so popular with teen girls?

It's still popular. The hotty hot shorts and align leggings are a staple in the wardrobe of many.

I wish I knew, and that they'd move on to something a bit more reasonably priced. DD wants Hotty Hots, which are $68 each, which I think is an insane price to pay for itty-bitty shorts.

I let DD have a few items but focus on number of uses. For example belt bag, jacket, hoodie that I expect in the weekly rotation? Sure. Bras? No.

Just an FYI - you can buy returned items for 1/2 price at the Lulu website under the section “Lulu Like New”

They are super popular at my kid’s school so I just broke down and bought some stuff for her but she wears the heck out of them and I got a legit discount from a friend, so that helped. But I held out for a long time due to price. I also go without so my sixth grade girl can have. Grrrrr……

They’re not returned, they’re used. Which is fine, but the prices are higher than what I’ve gotten on Poshmark.
