Arlington - does your water taste bitter?

Anonymous
We are in north Arlington and it seems that our drinking water (filtered and boiled) gives a bitter taste that made my 10-year-old gag. It started since last weekend and I'm wondering if residents in the same area are experiencing the same thing?

No, I’m near Discovery.

Nope.

It tastes weird in MoCo. I think it might have to do with the drought?
Anonymous
It’s because there is an algal bloom in the Potomac. There is an increase in a substance called geosmin which alters the smell and taste of the water.

No, but I eyes get red after showering.

Mine tastes chemically it's been worse the last 3 days.

Its the drought. Have you driven by the river lately? Its a trickle. Pray for rain!

Yes! Horrible. Tastes like dirt. Does using a filter help? I normally am fine with tap water, but just bought bottled water because it’s undrinkable.

It’s the drought.

So glad I found this! Yes mine is disgusting. I called the water people today and they put in a ticket and are coming out today.

We just moved here - is that the moldy aftertaste I'm experiencing? Also smells slightly moldy

I'm in Falls Church, and this happened with our water about a week ago for a couple of days. I couldn't even drink the coffee I brewed with it. It went away after a couple of days and is fine now.
