Do official transcripts note the number of absences?

My dc has had a some serious illnesses this year which have contributed to a large number of absences. They made up all the work and grades didn't suffer, or perhaps suffered only slightly. The counselor has asked all students to let her know if there's anything she should note in the counselor letter for college applications. It doesn't seem worth mentioning this... unless the large number of absences will actually show up on the transcript that colleges see.

Has anyone seen a formal transcript and do you know if it lists only grades or also other things like absences?

No. What matters is grades.
If she had a serious illness, she should note that in the college app section that asks "what else would you like us to know" (or words to that effect).
