Hello! I was recently offered a part-time in-house counsel position, and was asked what my salary requirement were. Prior to this offer, I was a biglaw attorney for 6 years.
Any part-time in-house counsel here? Any insights as to what is a fair salary for entry level in-house counsel would be so appreciated! Thanks! |

Define part-time.

| Bout tree fiddy |
| Nit nearly enough information for anyone to give you an intelligible answer. |
For whom? A non-profit (how big? What kind of issues?A private company with how much revenue in what field? Scope of work broadly? Hours? Exceptions? Benefits? |
| Depends how many hours a week and non-profit vs. company |
|
OP here. It’s for a private company worth ~1.5 billion in revenue. Without getting too specific, industry is retail.
Roughly 20 hours a week, fully remote. Primarily copyright and trademark counseling & transactional work (drafting / negotiating contracts, reviewing licenses, reviewing marketing collateral, counseling on IP rights & usage, etc). Hiring manager is still figuring out if they can offer me a benefits package as a part-timer. |
| 125k without benefits? Trademark is niche, it isn’t like you’re just doing contracts, so the pay would be higher imo. |
| At least ask 150k and see what they say. |
