| With summer coming around the corner, I would love so recommendations for some fun coming of age stories: think Secret life of bees or How to make an American quilt. TIA! |

Anything by Judy Blume counts. I quite liked Tiger Eyes, though by modern standards, it is a bit slow.
The Go-Between by L.P Hartley is a classic and heart-breaking coming of age book (also a film in the 70s with Julie Christie). And a bunch of recent YA books like All The Hate You Give by Angie Thomas |
Love “I Capture the Castle” - one of my favorites. I also recommend A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, and a book called “Gloria.” It came out in the late 90s, about a young woman in 1950s society circles. It’s super under the radar, but excellent! https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/335099.Gloria Also, Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld. |

Age of Miracles, by Karen Thompson Walker -
I loved this book! It's a coming of age story told within an original setting (the slowing of the Earth's rotation and possible end of the world). Juxtoposes the normal/typical with the truly extraordinary. Stuck with me long after I finished it. |
