| Our son has recently become engaged and is planning a summer 2024 wedding in Boston. We will host a small rehearsal dinner for immediate family and a welcome drinks party later that evening for out of town guests. The dinner will be for about 12 people, and the welcome party will be 75-100 people or possibly more. The wedding ceremony and reception will be in the Back Bay and many out of town guests will stay near there, so we think at least the welcome party should be close to the Back Bay. The dinner could be anywhere, but we would prefer not to go too far out. We are not from Boston, and we don't have any idea where to look. I would love suggestions for an intimate, pretty spot for dinner (maybe with an interesting view) and a fun spot for the welcome drinks party. I saw online that there is a bar at Fenway Park called Bleacher Bar that might be fun for drinks? Any ideas would be most welcome. |

Super casual, but a beautiful spot

This looks lovely, but the website states:"No private parties, weddings, showers, birthday parties, etc.". Have you been there for an event that is not a "corporate function"? |

| Thanks for sharing these ideas Boston really has so many great spots for rehearsal dinners and welcome parties and its helpful to see options that work for different sizes and vibes One thing I have noticed when planning events here is that getting guests around smoothly can make a big difference, especially if they are coming from outside the city services like Metro West Car Service are often just a practical part of logistics for weddings. Did you happen to find any venues that are a bit off the usual list but have a really unique or cozy atmosphere? |
| I am the original poster. Welcome party was at Rochambeau on Boylston Street downtown. We had the entire top floor. They have two big rooms - one was quieter with tables and chairs for people to sit down. This was walking distance from the Sheraton Hotel where many people stayed. It was a great party. |
