I am having frequent nose bleeds from one nostril (mid-40s). In the last 6 weeks I have had 3 nose bleeds. Two were minor and the bleeding stopped within seconds, and the other the bleeding took 10 minutes to stop. I believe these are all anterior nose bleeds.
I went to my primary care doctor who looked inside and could not see anything wrong. I got complete blood work done which showed no issues other than low Vitamin D. Made an ENT appt. which is not for several weeks. These seem to be at random with no known cause. Oddly, last year this same thing happened in the spring (multiple nosebleeds in a short period) but then disappeared for a year, and returned again in the spring. I'm worried I have a nasal polyp or inflamed blood vessel that will need to be cauterized. If you had that procedure, what was it like? |
| I have this and it is an inflamed blood vessel. ENT said cauterization would help but is not immediately necessary if the bleeds aren't so frequent that they're interfering with daily life. |
