| We will be attending the Eras tour in Pittsburgh in June. It's at Accrisure Stadium and we are staying downtown near Mellon Square. What's the best way to get to & from the concert? It's best to leave the car at the hotel, right? Thanks! |
| The walk is about 1.5 miles. We can do that, but I know we will also be tired. The path is down W General Robinson St to the Andy Warhol Bridge. Then 7th to 6th. Is that a safe walk? I don't generally walk around cities around midnight, but imagine a lot of concert goers will be walking the same path. |

Native Pittsburgher here although I've been gone for almost 20 years. Still visit often.
I had to look up what Acrisure Stadium is. They renamed Heinz Field to that?! That's just shameful. To answer your question, you could walk there but I would not do that walk at night. Not that its unsafe, but its a little complicated with all the traffic and street crossings and involves walking across a bridge. It might be fine for a leisurely stroll during the day but you'll be tired after the concert and outside of a few bars/lounges downtown Pgh is a ghost town at night. Just do an Uber. Will probably be less than $10. |
OK. Thanks! That's good info to know. |
| Uber back will be a wait and more expensive, but it may still be the best option. |

Another native Yinzer chiming in 😉
See what the Uber line/wait looks like. It’s really not a bad walk in terms of distance, hills, or safety. My plan would be to keep an eye on the Uber situation but be prepared to walk. Map it out ahead of time so you have a bit of an idea where you’re headed and follow the crowd - I’m sure many will be going in that direction. Depending on your plans/energy, there are also some good restaurants/bars near the stadium. You could go out after for a bit and then grab a ride once the initial rush clears out. I like the Foundry. |
+1. There are often not enough Ubers after a big event, so I'd grab a drink and wait out the initial rush. Definitely don't try to drive yourself. |

Squealers!?
Stoolers!!? What are "you-ins" doing here? |
We had some folks go to the concert in Philly. It was impossible to get into the train station for the return because of the crush of people. They walked about 4 blocks away from the stadium and selected that pickup point for Uber- saved a ton of time getting out of the worst of the traffic and the fare was $40 cheaper. Was still $40 to get back to downtown Philly- around 3.5 miles. |
