Convection microwave combo- do you use convection function? what for?

Anonymous
Is it better to get a convection microwave or just a plain microwave? What do you use your convection function for and do you find it helpful if you have a nice oven right next to it?

I’ve never used ours.

I have the advantium oven. I use it as a 2nd oven when needed. I also bake cookies in it.

I own the Advantium too. I typically choose the regular oven first and use the Advantium as an extra or backup. Empty nester so it doesn’t get used much except for big holidays etc.

I use my convection microwave for baking bread, cookies, cakes, pies, and pizza. I've also got an air fryer that I'll use to cook fish, chicken (whole, wings, breasts etc) and small quantities of baked goods. With the convection microwave and air fryer I never use my regular oven.

I have the breville combi and bake and roast in it. It’s pretty awesome to not heat up the whole oven.

Convection = air fryer. I use it all the time for anything I would but in an air fryer (I.e., that is better crispy).

It's a bit different than a convection oven. I don't use the convection microwave but use our convection-air fryer toaster oven all the time.

It would seem to save energy since you don’t have to heat up a large oven when you can quickly heat up a small one.

I only used the convection feature on my microwave one time, to make a frozen pot pie. It crisped up the top. I keep telling myself to read the manual and really learn how to use it. 9 years later still haven’t…

Only use my GE Profile microwave/convection oven as a convection oven a few times a year, when hosting Thanksgiving or entertaining, and need more oven space.

I use mine as a microwave 75-80 percent of the time. Oven for 25-20 percent of the time. So it works as my second oven when needed. I use it sometimes for just small things as an oven too but I don’t love the glass rack as much as the metal ones and I’m lazy to change it.

I think it is a great product though.
