| Has anyone’s child mentioned getting a 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifetline) popup on their Chromebook? My daughter mentioned seeing it yesterday and was very unsettled by it. |
No, I just saw an article that mentioned almost nobody knows what it is. I think it's listed on the backs of the kids' ID cards. I'd probably mention it to the school, just so they know there are likely a variety of reactions to this type of messaging. |
| Ok, because my kid says that it comes up on her and her friends' Chromebooks any time they log on. They are in elementary school and do not have IDs. |

Maybe a tech glitch?
A lot of school systems do content monitoring (spying and narcing) on Chromebooks. Could be popping up the minute warning in response to something the kid wrote or downloaded (or a glitching attempt to do that) |
Maybe...though she says it comes up on her classmates' Chromebooks too. I'll have her show me tonight. |
It’s also on the website in the pop up banner. 988 is new. I’m glad that they are helping spread the word to kids about it. |
Too bad. |
For elementary?? |

My ES gets it on the login screen.
Hasn't been giving much attention, but remembered the number 988. |
I don't have a problem with it, necessarily, but I would have liked some advanced warning. My child's teacher would have as well. She had no idea what I was talking about when I told her that's where my daughter had heard about 988. |
