Hi - I received email notification today from my child's school that they were found eligible for Level III services next year. Child was in pool and denied for Level IV, but I appealed. I am assuming that this Level III notification is separate from the appeal process, and that I will still hear a decision, one way or another, from the appeals committee? I can check in with my AART, but just curious if anyone knew if it was a separate process, or if this notification implies that child was denied on appeal? Thanks! |
This is totally separate from appeal process. Notification on appeal decision is June 9. |
Thank you! |
It’s separate, my kid’s AART sent out an email to me directly the day the level III letter came home indicating it’s a separate process and if the appeal is successful it overrides the level III. |
Just curious, which schools have sent level III letters? It’s so frustrating how every elementary does their own thing, except when it’s convenient to blame the county. |
Not the OP, Daniels run did. |
Do you get these letters if you're at a center school? I heard level III is determined at the end of the year? |
OP here - Not a center school. School is Bren Mar Park. |
At our non-center school, I was told by the AART:
"We will be screening for school based services at the end of May. If found eligible for services, you will receive a letter in June." |
I have children at Marshall Road Elementary in Vienna - they both had level 3 letters in their Tuesday folders yesterday. |
Our school sends out level III letters when teachers assignments are sent out in August. |
Apparently the schools know the results of the level IV appeals. |
Level iii is done at your school. Level iv is done at the county level. They are separate. From what I understand, level iii is school dependent, so it’s not all happening at the same time. |
