Questions and yes/no answers

Does your almost 2.5 yr old answer yes or no when you ask a question? Does he/she ask why?who?where? Etc questions?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but it depends on the question?

If it's this or that, he'll respond with "This. That's my favorite!"
If it's a "Do you want to go to the playground?" It's usually something like "Yes! That'll be fun!"

He's pretty verbal for his age (just turned 2 in Feb) but he doesn't ask a lot of follow-up questions

Sorry for being vague. But if you ask him whats that? What is the response if he doesnt know what the thing is? If you ask what are you doing? What is the response?

It you ask do you want to go home? What is the response?

If you ask do you want this stick? What is the response?

Mine doesn’t respond to any of these questions. If you ask him where questions, he will point sometimes though. Like where is the sky? Point up etc

Still mostly saying words and random 2 word phrases, no sentences.

Yes. DD is 2.5 and she answers yes/no questions. If I ask her something like where her siblings are, or where is the ___? Do you want ___? She'll answer or say I don't know. She can ask who/where questions. She also says please and then thank you when you give her something she asks for.
